Exhibition Introduction:

What new forms might emerge if we place the creative endeavors of today’s young generation within the broader context of global travels? Since the launch of the Sailors Program by the One-Way Street Foundation in 2018, over 30 young writers, scholars, photographers, and artists have received support to embark on journeys both within China and abroad. Through their travels and creative practices, they have sought to explore and document a world in flux.

The upcoming“Sailors Program: Dive into the Field” group exhibition will showcase works by artists selected for the fourth edition of the Sailors Program. In addition, the exhibition will build a dialogic space that spans across years, inviting ten former participants to present nine works that revisit their journeys. Through memories, experiences, archival materials, and fragments of writing, these creators will bring their reflections back into the exhibition, resonating in meaningful ways with the seven featured projects.

Their works may explore listening to the sky and the earth, sensing the trembling and shifting of borders, recalling forgotten stories, or capturing scattered voices. These dialogues across time also embody the Sailors Program’s organic growth and enduring vitality.
