Press Conference of the Exhibition Opening of "Convex/Concave: Belgian Contemporary Art"

 

On the afternoon of  30 October 2019,  the exhibition "Convex/Concave: Belgian Contemporary Art", co-organised by TANK Shanghai and WIELS, Brussels, opens officially. The exhibition is curated by Dirk Snauwaert , director of WIELS, and Charlotte Friling, assistant curator of WIELS, reviewing the significance of the relationship between the external world and the inner spiritual space in the context of globalisation of the contemporary world through more than 50 works by 15 representative Belgian artists.

 

In the upcoming art season of Shanghai, the newly opened exhibition of TANK Shangahai will present a panoramic view of Belgian contemporary art as an important representative of the contemporary art world today, further enriching the urban art scene of Shanghai.


Meanwhile, curator Dirk Snauwaert and assistant curator Charlotte Friling and 7 artists: Mark Manders, Thomas Lerooy, Jos de Gruyter , Valérie Mannaerts, Koenraad Dedobbeleer, Edith Dekyndt and Sophie Whettnall will sit down together for an opening dialogue in front of the media and the audience, discussing the dualism of contemporary art as a whole.
