On December 31, 2025, “TANK NYE PARTY 2026” arrives as scheduled!
TANK Shanghai will be open at night from 18:00 until late, offering a relaxed and joyful New Year’s Eve celebration at the museum with a countdown to the New Year, art exhibitions, new media screenings, art projects, music, and delicious food.
This year’s countdown will span across the entire TANK, will feature synchronized countdown screens throughout the night, allowing visitors to share in the rhythm and anticipation of the New Year across different areas. As the clock approaches midnight, everyone will gather in sync for the final countdown, welcoming 2026 at TANK!
On the evening of December 31, 2025, we will present KTV at the museum. Equipped with professional Bose sound systems, Yan Guang screens, and KTV booths with drinks and refreshments supported by Shanghai Front Bay Kimpton Hotel, it’s the perfect opportunity to release the year’s stress, entertain yourself, and reward yourself!
This time, we’ve prepared two stages:
From 18:00 to 21:00—Free Mic Session! Join freely with your ticket for impromptu PK battles. Talent lies among the people.
From 21:30 to 23:30—Art Session, where we’ll invite art and music enthusiasts to face off in pairs. Listen to them express another side of themselves through their voices. Random matchups, free for all to watch.
“Gustatory Hallucination” is co-presented by the Life Aesthetics Institute of the School of Industrial Design and the Cross-Media Art Experimental Center of the China Academy of Art. “Gustatory Hallucination” is an experimental creation exploring sensory manipulation, taste deconstruction, and food cognition. The work invites the audience to step into an ever-rewritten dining experience, deconstructing the authority of taste through interactive engagement and awakening the perception of the “embodied palate.”
At the Art Plaza, multiple groups of artists will present cross-media performances, experimental screenings, and interactive experiences. Artists will engage with the space through their works, allowing the audience to rediscover the ways in which the environment is activated under the night sky. Three leading avant-garde artists—JoeyJoeyJoe, Huizit, and GUAN × Ezi—will converge their energies to create a New Year celebration spanning electronic music, algorithmic generation, and immersive visuals. Video works constructed through multiple mediums such as AI, algorithms, data, virtual and real worlds will bring a fusion of technology and art, filling the large space with flickering energy all night. The “Foreseeing the Future” segment will return this year, offering a glimpse into the glimmers and clues of 2026 amidst the atmosphere of New Year’s Eve!
That night, TANK’s Art Audio-Visual Hall will become the city’s most tender and immersive corner: children’s games, ways of viewing contemporary art, artists’ micro-imagery, NOWNESS’s poetic short films, and the collective countdown to midnight. We will accompany you across 6 hours of artistic imagery, bridging the transition from 2025 to 2026.
